Week 40!!! King of the grass!!

Happy memorial day.

So this week was pretty sweet I got to see my brother get baptized from across the country we watched it with an investigator who is very close to baptism and they thought it was great.
The 4 man romney district I am in is doing great with lessons as a 4 man district together we taught close to 70 lessons and got 23 new investigators in one transfer  I would say for 2 companion ships that is decent. So it will be cool to see how this transfer works out.
Found another investigator who says he wants to be baptized and is starting to come to church so its all adding up for us here in Petersburg started a little bit slower but Rome wasn't built in a day.
It's super green here now and grass grows fast so we have been helping cut it. You can about watch it grow while your cutting it so it's a little bit discouraging while we do it but we are finding interesting things like orange turtles and snakes.
But it is hot!!!
But I love it here hope I stay here for a while If it was up to me.
Members are feeding us really well we just had deer meat sloppy Joe's so that was all along watching him shoot prairie dogs and rabbits outside so kinda cool.
New and awesome
definitely had a lot of ribs hamburger and hotdogs so anyways that's that have a great week.

Note:Since we have the privilege of living out here...when Kody says you can see the grass growing as soon as you finish..it is the TRUTH!!

Week 39!!

Petersburg West Virginia

Transfer calls came last night and I am staying in Petersburg for another transfer and I like it here we have a baptism June 23rd and she is super pumped we also got 3 reactivations and it's super sick we are down to 10 investigators now but they are pretty solid 5 of them see progressing really well had 11 lessons this week and 6 were member present. We are trying to reactivate one member who has an airport so maybe he can show us the airplanes. That would be sick and get him back to church j
I went on a sick exchange with my MtC companion elder welling. We had a great time and got work done in romney.

We have a new mission president coming in soon gonna miss president and sister Christiansen a lot but it will be cool to have a president from the Congo so that's pretty sweet.
It is getting really humid and hot it's just hard to get used to don't know if you ever do.
All the animals don't seem to care saw a cat in broad daylight giving birth and another feeding its kittens outside pretty weird.
Seeing a lot more deer now just about everyday. Like if I didn't see at least one deer a day I would think it was the 2nd coming.
THE members here are really. Liking us they told us that they really don't want us to leave and that we are two of the best missionaries we have here so thought that was pretty sweet.
My companion is Elder walgamott still and we have a really good time he is from Middleton Idaho
It's been raining like crazy as well and the river looks like mud so fishing is not I'm the near future.
We were going to see a less active member and we were sliding all of the road and scraping bottom but we made it. So it's all good it's getting ready for bear season here so everybody is loading there hounds up its pretty sweet I get to talk a bunch of houndsmen and give them book of Mormons and pet their dogs. It's the life also I am going go catch some copperhead snakes and send them to my dad and my aunt they would appreciate it theres a couple rattlesnakes out here too so they can take pick.
That's it for the weekly new of elder killian have any questions or you wanna talk to me just hit me up!!!

Week 38!!

This week.

First off happy late mothers day to all hope you had a great one.
Not a huge turn of events happened this week but wasn't bad had 10 lessons and 7 were member present so we didn't do to bad and we got to 2 new gators.
We did hit a snapping turtle accidentally while it was on the road I think it's okay but we definitely rung it bell a little but he crawled off the road after the thump.
I got to talk to my family yesterday which was awesome bishop had us over and we had a nice meal and a good time. Even though it was the first mothers day without my mom to pick on I made it through
We have been using miles trying to find people quite a bit we are up almost 900 miles and it's only the 14th so not good.
Which means we try and walk as much as we can and it is now 96 degrees and working on 88 percent humidity give or take. So my nice white shirts I have been using shout bleach and oxy clean or you wouldn't be able to call the color white anymore.
Members have been feeding us quite a bit now so we are getting a lot of referrals from members and from church head quarters as well it's hard to remember to visit all these people we have a ton of potentials and 11 investigators and still working on contacting referrals that we received so been busy doing that.
Still seeing a lot of new places here don't really run out of places to go. And we are still seeing tons of deer crossing the road anyways every day
Anyways talk to you all next week

These pictures do not come even close to doing justice to how green and beautiful it is right now, everything is in bloom and so full of life..truly AMAZING!!!

Mother's Day 2018!!

One of the FAVORITE parts of Mother's Day that all Missionary Mom's look forward to is the chance to see and talk with their Missionary.  The Killian family was no exception!!

Here are some pictures from the call!!!!

A family photo with Grandma Killian!!
As Kody calls them on the right is his "Homie" Layne Bolinder and on the right is his "cousin" Dustin Mecham.
Heaven only knows what Kody was doing here.....silly boy!!
Kody and his companion!!! This is one of Kody's favorite companions.  Since he has been in the mission field he has had 3 AMAZING companions and this Elder is right up there!!!

Kody got to talk for a whole hour with his family because his companion who has been out 18 months and is the Senior companion said it was okay.  When it was time they introduced each other to their families, shared some laughs and said goodbye until Christmas!!!

Week 37!!!

Petersburg, West Virginia

So I haven't wrote emails the last 2 weeks because, my good excuse is I didn't want to.
Anyways a lot has happened we one found a part member less active family and the family is getting reactivated their daughter wants to be baptized so she came to church and is excited for that.
I am excited for it as well.
We have been using a ton of miles in this area trying to find people and exchanges with the romney elders are killing are miles we are 6 days into the month and at almost 500 we only have 1600 throughout the entire month. And we have to go to district meeting which is a 90 mile round trip.
Anyways last Monday I got the opportunity to go fishing at a private pond she raises her own fish she got albino trout and rainbow trout it's pretty sick I did pretty good I'd say caught a lot of fish we fried them all up it was good as we ate we watched people bate the deer in.
We got to ride in the bishops camaro it is pretty sweet he took us to a teaching appointment in it.
We see deer on a regular basis the real problem is trying to not hit the deer that have already been hit there was one that got hit and he was still dragging his back legs across the ground. Wish I could have done something but oh well we had to hurry to zone conference. We definitely have had close calls on deer though
We are teaching one guy, Ricky and he went out back and started his Harley for us while we were talking to him. His pit bull named buddy ran out and ran around the trailer park a lady chased him away with a gun so he has to move out because they keep companion to the man lord about the dogs. He read the book of Mormon though and he really likes it.
They are refilling the tractor with deisel so I can drive it again its not really in my eyes a tractor it's like a big lawn mower but cant complain to much because not everyone gets to drive a tractor on their mission and work with sheep and cattle. I hope eventually that I will get to ride a horse but that's way far from realistic anyways.
I went on exchanges with elder munden and we were knocking doors and we ran into this door that's says please do not push on door it will close, so I took a picture because I thought my common sense was bad. And we got to kill cochroaches and we ate them... Just kidding they weren't big enough
It's been raining quite a bit lately because it's West Virginia but it has flooded multiple times now the first time there was campers and tents and parts of houses just floating down the river its flooding again today so hopefully we can get out car with 4 inch clearance on it around the next couple days I think we should either get a car with higher clearance or a horse but that's not my choice we will have to make due with what we have until then.
It's been getting pretty hot knocking doors around here 93 degrees and 60 percent humidity and it ain't even summer yet so it's not even that bad yet thus morning it's 100 percent humidity and 49 degrees at 7:00 that's what the temperature was its going up.
That's this email for you...
