Week 50!!

Skipped Monday and Tuesday

Wednesdays-today we had 2 set appointments so we got ready and went to those appointments, the first appointment was with a guy who is going through a rough time and he is looking for peace, his 2 best friends are LDS and they referred him to us, so we Met with him and brother shahan came with us, we started asking him what would you like to expect from us and he said I want you to help me be baptized, he had already read 200 pages in the book of Mormon and He said he went out and bought a bunch of ties so he could come to church. And so Matthew Is getting baptized September 1st and he is very excited about it.
So this guy is for shizzle.
Then another investigator who is getting baptized on the 18th of this month, A, wanted us to meet up with him at burger King so we could teach him and his girlfriend, that ended up not working out, which i am okay with because I wasn't looking forward to teaching the gospel in a fast food restaurant. But he wants to meet up with us again.
And that's just another great day in paradise!

Thursday- got up this morning and got everything set in stone well we thought, today was very slow and the stars didn't align quite how we wanted them to. We walked quite a bit, got a call from the Ephrata elders asking where I was, because supposedly the sister missionaries told our whole district I got sent home from the hospital. So everyone was concerned, but we got it all straightened out, these sister missionaries sure start drama and rumors like no other, I think maybe they want me to go home. I have a lot of good reasons to serve a mission, but now I got another great reason to stay on a mission and its the bother the sisters, it will help me sleep at night and give me something to look forward to waking up for.
Anyways we walked to a members home that has had leg problems and hasn't been able to come to church for awhile, we went and talked to him and brought his spirits up. He is a super funny guy, he will not be able to come to church still but he feels a lot better after getting somebody to talk to so that's what makes the most difference to us.
Well it's night night time for me.

Friday- not a whole lot happened today it was slower and a bunch of appointments fell through and it rained a lot.

Saturday- woke up this morning and got all our preperation for the day done, then we had an appointment set with a guy at 12 so we called brother Pedilla and he picked us up and we went there, it was a very interesting visit and kinda awkward but we picked him up as a gator and we are coming back next week. Then we tried by a few more people, the M family picked us up and took us to the Church. That's where they always feed us and the sisters were there with us as well.
There from Columbia so we get all this weird Hispanic food.
Like they gave us this stuff called Yuca which is kinda dull tasting, then they had a special kinda fish and they gave us limes to squeeze on them, then we each got a big slice of avacado.
Then it turns out that it is sister Richeys birthday today and they didn't have a cake, so they ask her favorite cake and they went to the market and got a red velvet cake and ice cream for her birthday. The Martinezsare funny and they haven't ever had red velvet cake, he couldn't even pronounce it.
But they enjoyed it.
When you need to move a mattress to be part of a Trio...you just load that mattress into the back of your car...the Elder's said that if you think this is funny they have a whole video of when they had to lad the mattress the first time.....
Always make sure that there is a parking spot for the horse and buggy.
Then they took us home and we went to aess active members and sat down and talked for a while. They are a super cool family so hopefully they start coming back to church again. He offered us a ride back to our apartment and of course I was not going to turn the offer down.
Then we came back and we got a super cool message from Matthew the guy getting baptized on the 1st of September, he told us that after we left he hasn't had the urge to smoke in 3 days and the  cigarettes make him sick now and he prayed and he says he felt amazing. He asked us how this is possible because he has tried to quit smoking many times with his own strength but he says It doesn't last long at all, and we told him the strength that God gives you when you are truly trying to change your life over powers everything and he said he wants more of it and wants to meet with us sooner and is coming to church tomorrow, so its a sweet ending to the night.

Sunday- got all ready this morning and then the sister missionaries came and picked us up for church, we got there and it was the fullest that it has ever been, they were having some bushman family reunion and they all came to church, so we sat outside the chapel in the foyer with our gator because it was to full on the inside, he wasn't to enthused about sitting outside in the foyer because the whole time the testimonies were being bore there were 2 younger ladies from another ward were talking about their pregnancy's and the recovery process, so now I am up to date on that.
The other 2 hours of church were great and Matthew really enjoyed it.
Everybody was being introduced in priesthood and he stood up out of the blue  and says I am Matthew Gambale, and I am investigating the church and I want to get baptized and then sat down, so it was cool.
Then I went to go give my fast offerings slip to the ward clerk and the counselor stopped me again and asked me to give a talk in church for the 2nd time because I had to go to the hospital the first time he ask, so I will be speaking next Sunday and the topic is on service in your calling.
Then we came back and went to the rest of our appointments, we totally forgot about one guy as sad as that is, but he wants to see us Thursday so we don't feel as bad. Been a pretty busy week, well off and on, but I definitely am ready for preperation day!!!
